This may seem silly, and I know the group will shrink in the coming days, but wouldn't you want to put your potential forward lines or pairs (i.e. Giroux and one of Voracek/Simmonds) on the ice together?

Also, can you give a quick update today or tomorrow on how Myers looks? Hopefully no effects from the rookie game.

When did we get Leland Irving? Thats a solid AHL move.

Camp doesnt really matter too much with that stuff.

My guess is they want a good mix of vets and young guys to fuel some of the competitive juices and to lend some guidance to the younger guys.

I think, at least for the first couple of days of camp, they are going to just mix and match some rookies with some vets and just how the kids do playing with and against NHL players. There is plenty of time and preseason games to get the final lineup and lines set.

I think they will begin focusing on real lines and pairings after the split squad games on Wednesday. There are still five preseason games after that.

First home preseason game for me. I think by then the camp numbers will be down to the main guys and maybe 3-4 extra at forward and defense.
